ADG Events is now in ChatGPT: plan, update, and follow through
Connect an ADG Events business workspace to ChatGPT for event planning, task follow-through, CRM context, and exact reviewed email. See practical prompts, setup steps, and the actions that stay in ADG Events.

In this guide
The ADG Events plugin is now published for ChatGPT. Connect an ADG Events business workspace to review event plans, work with contacts and tasks, prepare communication drafts, and send a specifically reviewed event email through an authorized connected mailbox.
The useful change is that a planning conversation can refer to saved workspace records and carry an agreed next step back into ADG Events. Your team can ask what needs attention, review the current information, and decide which supported action to take. Available actions still depend on the capabilities you approve, your current role, enabled features, and effective organization access from the base plan, active extra tools, or an organization-specific grant.
What can ADG Events do in ChatGPT?
The connection supports several parts of the event-planning day:
| Work | Examples of supported actions |
|---|---|
| Events | Read event details and schedules, create an unpublished draft, and edit supported event details using the current saved version. |
| Tasks | Review event tasks, create tasks with descriptions, priorities and due dates, and update supported task fields. |
| CRM | Find contacts, review their related company and deal information, and record supported internal activity or deal updates. |
| Trips | Read trip details and create a planning trip when the workspace has the required access. Supplier purchases and bookings remain separate. |
| Communications | Save and edit communication drafts; with separate sending access, prepare an exact event-email review and queue only the approved message. |
| Workspace review | Read permitted notifications, Platform Support information, budget items and financial summaries. Monetary summaries keep currencies separate. |
Each connection is approved for one business organization. Changing the selected organization on the ADG Events website does not move an existing ChatGPT connection into another organization. Begin by asking which workspace is connected and which actions are currently available.
From a planning question to a saved next step
The examples below use fictional event names. Replace them with your own records, identify the intended event before making a change, and provide the actual dates and timezone when requested.
1. Prepare a briefing from the current event plan
Try this:
Use ADG Events to find Spring Volunteer Briefing. Show its current description, schedule, and open tasks. Summarize the decisions I should review before our planning meeting. Do not change anything yet.
This gives a coordinator a way to bring the event and its tasks into one planning conversation. Ask the assistant to distinguish saved facts from suggestions and to check any additional result pages before calling a list complete. Review the underlying records when a decision depends on a specific time, person, or status.
If the discussion produces an agreed description change, make the request specific:
Read the event again, then change only its description to: “A preparation briefing for the spring welcome team.” Leave the dates and venue unchanged. Show me the saved result.
Event editing checks the current saved version. If someone changed the record in the meantime, the assistant needs to read it again and resolve the conflict rather than silently replacing the newer edit. Changes to existing public content can also require publication review again.
2. Turn a planning discussion into event tasks
Try this:
Review the open tasks for Spring Volunteer Briefing. Propose three preparation tasks with a clear description, priority, and due date. After I choose the tasks and confirm the dates, save those tasks under that event.
Separate the proposed work from the saved work. A task list in a chat is useful for discussion; a task saved on the event can take part in the team's normal task review. Confirm the event, dates, and result before treating the handoff as complete. Review assignments and any additional task settings in ADG Events.
For a welcome-desk project, use the registration-to-check-in checklist to decide what those tasks should cover. A retreat team can start with the church retreat timeline.
3. Prepare a CRM follow-up with its context attached
Try this:
Find the contact I select in ADG Events and show all of their related deals and recent activity. Draft an internal next-step note for our event discussion. Show the note before saving it, and do not email the contact.
This supports a more informed handoff: review the existing relationship and open deals before writing the next step. If several contacts match, select the intended person instead of letting a name alone decide. An internal activity note records work for the team; it does not contact the person.
Learn how the surrounding event and CRM workflow keeps planning and follow-up connected.
4. Review an event email before it leaves the workspace
Try this:
Prepare an arrival reminder for the event people I select on Spring Volunteer Briefing. Use an authorized connected sender. Show the exact sender, selected recipients, subject, and complete message for each recipient. Wait for my approval before sending, then check the send status.
Saving a communication draft does not choose an audience or send a message. Sending is a separate action: the assistant needs the approved sending capability, an authorized connected mailbox, explicitly selected event people, and a current preview of the exact content. Review the purpose and any outreach requirements before approving it.
If the content, audience, or saved draft changes—or the review expires—prepare a fresh preview and review it again. A successful queue result means the message was queued. Provider acceptance and inbox delivery are different outcomes; ask for the current status and avoid a second send while an uncertain first result is being checked.
How do I connect ADG Events to ChatGPT?
- Open the ADG Events plugin in ChatGPT and review its details. Install it on a supported surface where it is available to your account. Publication can take time to appear; account and workspace availability can differ.
- Follow the connection prompt and sign in to your own ADG Events account. Complete your organization's MFA or SSO requirements when applicable.
- Review the requesting application, select the intended business organization, and approve only the capabilities needed for your work.
- Return to ChatGPT, start a new chat if prompted, and ask: “Which ADG Events organization is connected, and what can you do here?” Check the organization before requesting changes.
- In ADG Events, use AI Connections in your account settings to review or revoke the connection. An organization administrator can review the organization's connections from its settings.
OpenAI's plugin installation guidance explains supported surfaces and installation. In managed ChatGPT workspaces, an administrator may also need to allow the plugin and its app actions. Installation alone does not grant access to an ADG Events account or increase its permissions; OpenAI explains these separate controls in its plugin administration guidance.
Which steps stay in ADG Events?
Event publication, opening registration, and payments continue through their existing ADG Events review flows. The ChatGPT connection does not perform those actions. Travel purchases and reservations require the appropriate provider process; creating a planning trip does not reserve a flight or hotel. Creating a draft event does not publish it or send invitations. Reading registration status does not check someone in.
Household workspaces are excluded from this business connection. Approving a capability cannot override missing effective organization access, a disabled feature, lost membership, or changed record permission. Buying an extra tool can make a supported capability eligible; it does not expand the capabilities already approved for the ChatGPT connection. Review current workspace access and connection settings rather than assuming a fresh prompt can grant access.
Travel and CRM can be included in an eligible base plan or added as available paid extra tools. Sales and Marketing share one CRM purchase; included capabilities are not charged again. Review the full base, extra-tool, license and usage charges in Billing before purchasing. Complimentary Enterprise access, where granted, belongs to that existing organization and does not follow a user into a new organization. New organizations use the published pricing catalog.
Start with one repeatable process
Choose a small, familiar workflow: a weekly event briefing, preparation tasks after a meeting, a CRM next-step note, or an arrival email with a full review. Define the event and intended outcome, ask the assistant to read the current records, and verify the saved result in ADG Events.
That is a practical place to evaluate the improvement: did the team get a clearer next action, keep it with the correct record, and complete the handoff without losing the necessary review? Compare that process with your team's existing method before rolling it out more widely.
